About our Trainer / Coach

Kay Song was an Economics HOD for over a decade and a finalist for the inaugural Outstanding Economics Teacher Award in 2016. He holds a Graduate Diploma in Professional Life Coaching and is a certified trainer for the dot b Mindfulness curriculum, developed by the Mindfulness in Schools Project in the UK.

Since leaving full-time service in 2021, Kay Song has continued to deepen his teaching, coaching, and mindfulness expertise. He completed the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Foundations course, a key milestone in the Level 1 MBSR Teacher Training Program recognized by the Mindfulness Center at Brown University, and he is also a certified yoga instructor.

He has developed workshops integrating motivation, learning, mental training, and self-compassion. Additionally, he offers personalized coaching sessions to students identified by schools. His passion lies in helping students become better learners while cultivating awareness and emotional regulation skills.

Our Programmes

Customised Workshops: Embark on a Journey of Exploration & Experimentation

Conducted in small groups of 10 to 12 participants, this 4-week programme, with each session lasting 45 minutes, is designed to help students foster focus and mental resilience. Grounded in key concepts of mindfulness, students will engage in guided exercises to find stillness, better manage negative thoughts, and cultivate self-kindness. By training the mind, participants will learn to harness their inner resources and enhance their ability to thrive both academically and personally. This intimate group setting encourages sharing and discussion, creating a supportive environment tailored to these interested participants.

Coaching Conversations

This one-to-one coaching conversation programme is designed to help students achieve their goals or overcome personal challenges in a supportive and empowering way. It aims to complement the in-house counselling services provided by schools, addressing the needs of the broader school population. Unlike counselling, life coaching emphasizes collaboration and recognizes students as the experts of their own experiences, while the coach offers guidance and tools to help them take proactive steps toward personal growth in both academic and personal areas. Each participant will take part in a total of 2 to 3 conversations depending on their goals and challenges.

Training the Mind: Focus & Resilience

Our workshops inspire students to embark on a journey of exploration and experimentation. They comprise a core component and a customizable element. The core component focuses on expanding perspectives on motivation and learning, fostering mental resilience, and equipping participants with practical strategies to train their minds for success. The customizable component is designed to address specific needs, such as establishing effective systems to enhance productivity. Additionally, participants can choose to deepen their exploration and experimentation by joining the coaching conversations program, which offers personalized support and guidance tailored to their unique growth journey.
